Spin a yarn or two...
Dallas Anne Duncan picked up her first pair of knitting needles in 2007 after seeing her best friend and another college neighbor perfecting their scarves. She hasn't put them down since!
Dallas specializes in creating custom patterns with lots of color. She knits apparel, accessories, home décor, toys and jewelry, and enjoys the challenge of designing a new project after only seeing a photo for inspiration.
She has two degrees from the University of Georgia — agricultural communication and animal science — and outside of knitting is a trained journalist. Dallas owns agriCULTURE Magazine and freelances with services including writing, logo creation and website design through DAD LLC (website under construction). She lives in the metro Atlanta area and is a member of both Atlanta Knitting Guild and The Knitting Guild Association.
* Favorite needles? Handmade size US 8 wooden needles with clay monkeys on the end! I typically prefer metal to wood needles, but I do love those because they're just adorable.
* Favorite yarn? I'll knit with most yarns, but I do have a penchant for a few. Anything from Expression Fiber Arts (her Dewy DK is so soft and squishy, and her pearlescent worsted is divine), which is based in North Carolina, makes me happy. I also love to work with Lion Brand Homespun and Heartland yarns.
* What do you look for when shopping for new yarns? Things that draw me in are color, texture and sparkle. Neutrals are not my forte, but I will knit with really cool ones that have some variegation or unusual feel to them.
