On Saturday morning, Atlanta Knitting Guild will host a wonderful, incredible event that I am so excited about I can barely stand it: "YARN" the film is coming to the metro!! We're bringing this colorful documentary to the LeFont Sandy Springs theater along with an absolute slew of raffles ($700 worth!), door prizes, goodie bags ... even a meet-and-greet with our Spring Superstar Charles Gandy! I got an email yesterday that said we only have a few tickets left, so consider this Knitbook post your FYI to get your ticket ordered like, yesterday.
I mean, they are only $10. And include an AH-FREAKING-MAZING GOODIE BAG OF YARN GOODNESS. You can't even get into a blockbuster matinee for that these days. And it definitely doesn't come with coupons to Gale's Art. #justsayin'
This event would not have come together without the hard work of the AKG executive board team, volunteers and our fearless YARN leader, Jolie Elder. She made things happen in barely three months. I think I speak for the rest of the Guild when I say how stinkin' proud we are of what she was able to do. Guys, take a second and give her a round of applause. She deserves an Oscar for Best Movie Event Planner, but I don't have time to knit her one, so this will have to do. :)
The other folks I want to thank for supporting AKG and this fundraiser are the sponsors who generously donated their patterns, coupons, samples and more to each of the 200 ticketholders. Just as a FYI, this is not at all, in any way, a sponsored post — I just felt that they deserved a public shout-out for the love they showed this group of Peach State yarn enthusiasts. Plus, what better way to entice all (OK, I realize there are like two of you, but whatever) my 3KD fans and Knitbook readers to snap up those extra tickets than by showing what presents await you?! Do me a solid and give these people a hug/follow on social media/purchase from their shop, etc.
